Wild Camping

A spot of Wild Camping… not for the feint-hearted!

Hello, my name is Jeremy Hunt… I’m a Business and Marketing Consultant, Mentor and Author.

I ran my own Marketing and Business Consultancy for 13 years, working with hundreds of small business owners – from start ups to established businesses – across all kinds of industries… but I wasn’t ‘On Purpose‘…

My career didn’t start in Marketing or Business Consultancy (I actually started in engineering), but early on I learned two principles which had a profound influence on the way I viewed business moving forwards in my career:

  • ‘Kaizen’ and the world of Continuous Improvement.
  • The importance of being ‘client-focused’ NOT ‘company-focused’.

The process of Continuous Improvement was made famous by W. Edwards Demming, who was an American engineer and statistician who went to Japan after the end of the second World War to help rebuild their industrial infrastructure. Actively engaging in the techniques Demming taught – looking at ways to monitor and make small improvements to EVERY aspect of their manufacturing processes – ultimately led to them being one of the most efficient manufacturing countries in the world.

This simple idea of continuously looking at ways to improve how you do things can be just as easily applied to any business, regardless of size, from creating a template of a document you use regularly, to structuring your folders on your computer so you can quickly find things when you need them, can end up saving you loads of time in the long term. And that’s really just scratching the surface.

The second principle – focusing on the client rather than your business – has also resulted in significant results for those companies who have taken it to heart, including extraordinary levels of customer loyalty.

At the top end of the scale is Apple Inc. Steve Jobs was a visionary who believed in creating the best customer experience in the products they produced – the iPhone being the most obvious example. The whole focus was to turn a complex product into something anyone can easily and intuitively use, and, as we know, (whether you love it or hate it), in 2007 the iPhone turned the mobile industry on its head.

Throughout my working life I have been amazed time and time again at the power these two principles hold when they are central to everything you do in your business, and they can just as easily be applied to smaller businesses, even Sole Traders, especially where time is a limiting factor.

But, although I didn’t realise it until many years later, these two principles on their own weren’t enough!

The third principle came much later, while I was caring for my terminally ill parents…

As their health deteriorated, both my parents started struggling to cope with the simple day-to-day tasks we all take for granted. So, I gave up my business to be their full-time carer – which I did for the last three and a half years of their life here on earth.

I have to say this was both an amazing and humbling experience and I’m grateful I had the opportunity to spend that time with them both, as it also led to a lot of heart-searching to work out what was really and truly important to me… and I discovered it wasn’t what I had previously spent my life aiming for!

It was during this time that I started my own healing journey, with the help of my sister who started her healing journey in 2003 and has been running her healing business since 2008. She has helped me more than I could have imagined at the beginning, and it actually lead to me discovering and understanding the third principle:

  • You need to get yourself ‘On Purpose’ to be able to get your business ‘On Purpose’.

So, what do I mean by that?

Have you ever noticed how some things you try and do go smoothly, with great results, where everything just seems to fall into place, but then how other things you try and do just seem to go wrong every-which-way you try?

This is to do with being ‘On Purpose’.

When you are OFF purpose, you struggle. When you are ON purpose, everything flows, comes together easily and you can truly start to manifest the life you want for yourself. And if you are running (or want to run) your own business, it applies here too!

Creating a successful business starts with YOU being ‘On Purpose’… discovering and doing what it is you are supposed to be doing… and then building your business around that. Getting your business ‘On Purpose’ too, frees up your time so you can focus on the core of what you do, rather than getting distracted by other aspects of your business (or life for that matter) which takes you away from what it is you should be doing… your purpose.

So, quite simply, when you put the 3 philosophies together, your business comes together.

But what’s most amazing, what really makes this achievable for anyone, is the simplicity of it all…

The majority of people have a tendency to make things more complicated than they really are or need to be, which in turn leads to a big drain on their time, and takes them away from what they should really be doing.

This is no different working in your business as a Healer. If you are struggling with how to do your finances, or how to set up your own website, or how and where you should advertise, you are taking yourself ‘off purpose’… because your purpose is Healing.

It was through helping my sister simplify the running of her business and developing a new website – together with a few conversations with some of her healing students wanting advice on where to start and how to move forwards with their own Healing businesses – which guided me to finding my ‘Purpose’…

When I’m not helping clients, I love connecting with nature as much as I can, and have done since childhood. Most days I spend a little time sitting amongst the trees in the local park just ‘being’, but I also enjoy walking/hiking holidays as well as a bit of Wild Camping.

My son is at the age where these things are an adventure, so it’s great we get to do these things together as much as we can.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering… unlike traditional camping, wild camping is pretty much ‘back to basics’ camping without a tent. It’s not for everyone, though I have to say, lying in your sleeping bag looking up at the stars before you go to sleep, is about as close to nature as your can get!

So, here I am, offering business support to Healing Practitioners, combining my knowledge and expertise in marketing and running small businesses together with my knowledge and experience of what it takes to be a Healing Practitioner.

I’ve taken the core aspects of business and broken them down into small, bite-sized chunks to simplify everything as much as I can for you, so you can get your business ‘On Purpose’ and spend more of your time on the healing.

Whether you are an experienced healer currently running your own business or you are just starting out, if you are looking for a way to move forward and get your business ‘On Purpose’, then the information on this website is for you.

If you would like to learn more about how I can help you, then please get in touch… I look forward to working with you on your journey, so you can start to manifest the kind of business and life you want!
